The Hayle Social Enterprise Trust

One of the first clients that came in to talk to us about the interact project and what they wanted us to do.

The Client's Name was Bob Amos who is Ben's Dad and he talked about a new museum that he wanted to start up and instead of calling it a Museum he called it a Pioneereum because it Depicts the work of the great Pioneers in Hayle and the Steel Revolution.

The Tinners Way.

On the Friday before we were visted by Alessandra asendo and Lizzie Black who told us about the Tinners Way Walk and what we would be doing with them.

The Tinners Way Dates back to The Iron Age and was the trading route between St Ives and to St Just and goes right across the Moors which are Owned By the National Trust for Natural Grazing

I also found out that they are trying to save the Moores and that it is a very interseting place for Archaeologists and was also the path tat the Tin Miners took to get to the Mines. there are also a lot of Stone Circles such as the Nine Maidens.

Tre Project

On Friday 7th May Barbara Santi from Awen Productions came and talked to us about the Tre Project is and what it involves.

Tre is the Cornish word for home.

The Tre Project will use archive footage that is on 16mm and Super 8 film which will be digitized so that we can use it in the project.

I found out that Awen productions applies for funding very often and that Barbara used to work for Working Title Productions which at the time was a small Production Company and not as well known as it is today. then started her own production Company Known as Awen Productions.

Once the Product is Made it will be circulated around cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

whatever we make with the Tre project it has to be inspired by Archive footage and not some new video.

The Tre Project will have to be finished by the End of term.

Visit to Golowan office and The Exchange Gallery Penzance.

Today We went down to The Golowan Office and The Exchange Gallery in Penzance. while we where there we found out a lot of info and some of us asked Questions.

The info i found out from the Golowan Office is that sometimes they book acts for next year if they have no room for this year and sometimes they book 2 years in advance and it can get pretty hectic trying to organise a place. it also takes a lot of work to put an event like this on and most if not all the People who work at the Golowan Festival are Volunteers and are doing it because they want to. i also found out that when the event is finished they start planning for the next one. I also found out how much it costs to run the event and the amount of health and safety that goes into the event.

The Info that i found out from the Exchange Gallery in Penzance is that they have two sites one in Penzance and one in Newlyn. At This moment in time they have a Really Good Exhibit on entitled NAMING SPACES by JYLL BRADLEY and is a very good exhibit and looks very well done the exhibit uses Photo's printed onto huge canvas as well as on light boxes where the picture is opaque and the light box illuminates the photo. into what we see on the light box.
